As this Veterans' Day weekend comes to a close, I give a salute to service members of the past, present, and future with this music video essay. Unlike my earlier post on the topic of war in pop music, this post focuses on the people who fill the ranks of our military. As such, I ran a set of terms that included words like soldier, veteran, sergeants, etc. on lyrics from Billboard's year-end Top Ten charts (1951-2015). Hits for these search terms was found in the following (in chronological order).
